Hello :) my name’s Nico Armato. I’m a UX + UI Designer with a specialty in designing desktop apps, mobile apps, web apps, and everything in between.
In 2022, while completing my Bachelor’s degree in Communication Technology @ UT Arlington, I was introduced to user experience as a field in one of my core classes. It was, simply put, love at first sight. I was fascinated by UX and immediately knew it was what I wanted to spend the rest of my life pursuing. In 2023, one year later, I was accepted into a program @ ASU’s College of Integrative Sciences and Arts for a Master’s degree in UX. Within 3 semesters, I completed the program with a 3.97 GPA.
This is the kind of information you will find listed below, as this page not only serves as an introduction of who I am, but also a digital replica of my resume. I am not here to waste your time: whatever you come here looking for is readily available with a very clear hierarchy of headings to help you find it.
However, I am also a writer, and a lover of stories, and it would physically hurt me inside go through the typical motions of a UX portfolio (UX buzzwords for the AI agent to sift through, grayscale colors, an iOS facemoji staring blankly into your soul). It would be a disservice to my personhood just as much as it would be a disservice to your time.
What this website is instead — or, rather, what I’ve tried my best to shape it as — is a wholistic look at the package of my personal brand. Not only a report of my experience and love for user experience, though there is plenty of that to find here, but a report of my character. You can see my writings regarding the present and future of the user experience field, my contributions to digital projects, but also my favorite books. In a world filled with LinkedIn short-form applications and a constant lack of face-to-face interaction in the professional world pre-job offer, I believe that expressing yourself the best you can is more important than ever before.
Thank you for stopping by :)
